The 74LS245 Octal Bus Transceiver is designed for asynchronous 2-way communication between data buses. This IC enables efficient data transfer from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, controlled by the direction-control (DIR) input. When the output-enable (OE) input is activated, the device can be disabled, effectively isolating the buses. The 3-state outputs allow the device to drive bus lines directly, while PNP inputs reduce DC loading on the bus lines. Hysteresis at the bus inputs improves noise margins, ensuring reliable performance in noisy environments. The typical propagation delay time from port to port is 8ns, making it suitable for high-speed applications. This device is a Pb-free product and is housed in a 20-pin DIP package. It operates within a supply voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V, and supports a temperature range from 0°C to 70°C.
