A3213EUA-T is a micropower, ultra-sensitive, pole-independent Hall effect switch with latched digital output, housed in a 3-pin ultramini SIP package. This device integrates a Hall voltage generator, small-signal amplifier, chopper stabilisation, latch, and MOSFET output on a single silicon chip, utilising advanced BiCMOS technology. The chopper stabilisation technique (dynamic offset cancellation) enhances stability by reducing residual offset voltage caused by overmoulding, temperature variations, and thermal stress.
With its omnipolar operation, the output turns on when either a north or south pole of sufficient strength is applied, and turns off when the magnetic field is removed. This polarity independence and minimal power requirement make it an excellent replacement for reed switches, offering superior reliability and ease of manufacturing while eliminating the need for signal conditioning.
The device operates over a supply voltage range of 2.4V to 5.5V, with an operating power of 825μW at 2.75V and an average supply current (IDD(AVG)) of 309µA. It is automotive grade AEC-Q100 qualified, ensuring high reliability. Key characteristics include superior temperature stability, extremely low switchpoint drift, insensitivity to physical stress, high ESD protection, and solid-state reliability. The chopping frequency is 340KHz with a duty cycle of 25%. The device is easy to assemble due to its magnetic pole independence.
