ATMEL ATXMEGA128A1-AU Microcontroller, 128KB Flash, 100TQFP

The ATMEL ATXMEGA128A1-AU is a low power, high performance 8-bit/16-bit AVR XMEGA A1 microcontroller, supplied in a 100-pin TQFP package. By executing instructions in a single clock cycle, the AVR XMEGA devices achieve CPU throughput approaching one million instructions per second (MIPS) per MHz, allowing the system designer to optimise power consumption versus processing speed.

This microcontroller features five software-selectable power saving modes, with idle mode stopping the CPU while allowing the SRAM, DMA controller, event system, interrupt controller and all peripherals to continue functioning. It offers a maximum operating frequency of 32MHz, 128KB self-programming flash program memory, an 8KB boot code section, 8KB SRAM and 2KB EEPROM. The device includes a 16-bit real time counter (RTC) with separate oscillator, a four-channel DMA controller, an eight-channel event system, eight 16-bit timer/counters and 78 programmable I/O pins.

The XMEGA A1 supports a wide operating voltage range from 1.6V to 3.6V, and a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. It provides eight USART, four 2-wire and four SPI interfaces. With QTouch® library support, it enables capacitive touch buttons, sliders and wheels. The device includes power-on reset, programmable brown-out detection, internal and external clock options with PLL and prescaler, and a programmable multilevel interrupt controller.
