Broadcom isolated 15-bit A/D converter optocoupler. SM DIP-8, 3.75kV isolation, 18kHz bandwidth. Ideal for motor current & voltage sensing.
The Broadcom Optically Isolated Amplifier is an isolated 15-bit A/D converter designed for precise measurement applications. This isolated modulator allows the direct measurement of motor phase currents in power inverters, making it highly suitable for automotive environments.
It converts a low-bandwidth analogue input into a high-speed one-bit data stream by means of a Sigma-Delta over-sampling modulator. This modulation technique provides high noise margins and excellent immunity against isolation-mode transients. The modulator data and on-chip sampling clock are encoded and transmitted across the isolation boundary, where they are recovered and decoded into separate high-speed clock and data channels.
