The DFROBOT 5V IR Photoelectric Switch is a compact and efficient break-beam sensor designed for precise motion detection. It operates on the principle of an infrared beam between an emitter and a receiver unit. The emitter projects a beam of invisible infrared light, which is detected by the receiver. When an opaque object interrupts this beam, the sensor triggers a digital output signal, enabling reliable detection of movement, counting, or timing events.
This sensor is engineered for high performance, featuring an impressive sensing range of up to 4 metres with an extremely fast and stable response time of just 0.5 milliseconds. Its small form factor allows for installation in confined or narrow spaces, making it highly versatile for a wide range of projects. Constructed with robust components, it operates reliably within an extended temperature range from -10°C to +60°C.
