The Beetle CM-32U4 is a compact, 8-bit embedded evaluation board designed for advanced Arduino projects. As an enhanced version of the classic Beetle module, it is fully compatible with the Arduino Leonardo and features an integrated onboard charging chip for Lithium batteries. This upgrade offers significant improvements in integration and usability, making it an excellent choice for applications demanding a small footprint and long service life.
Despite its incredibly miniaturised dimensions of just 22mm x 20.5mm, the Beetle CM-32U4 does not compromise on functionality. It boasts a comprehensive suite of communication interfaces presented in a user-friendly pin connector form, a notable improvement over traditional solder pads. This includes one I2C, one SPI, and one UART interface, alongside two analogue and two digital interfaces, plus GND and 5V output pins.
The board is ready to use out of the box with the official Arduino IDE, supporting Leonardo firmware without requiring an extra downloader. It offers flexible 5VDC power options via USB, a battery pack connected to the BAT pin, or an external 5V supply. Its integrated battery management system supports charging currents from 200mA to a maximum of 600mA, and it operates reliably across a wide temperature range from -40 to 125°C.
