The DFRobot Fermion BH1750 Light Sensor Breakout is a 16-bit digital light intensity sensor board designed to provide direct and precise luminance measurements. Unlike basic photoresistors that output an analogue voltage requiring complex calculations, this sensor features a built-in analogue-to-digital converter that outputs a digital signal directly in Lux (Lx). This allows for straightforward integration and immediate data interpretation without the need for additional mathematical processing.
When an object uniformly illuminated receives a luminous flux of 1 lx per square metre, its light intensity is 1 lx. This sensor measures that intensity seamlessly. To optimise the illuminant in certain applications, a reflector can be added to the light source for enhanced performance.
