The Kitronik Clippable Detector Board V1.0 for the BBC micro:bit is a versatile add-on designed to detect light, objects, and follow lines. It connects directly to the BBC micro:bit and is also compatible with certain Kitronik boards, such as the Klip motor board, making it an excellent choice for a variety of electronics projects.
The board operates by using three evenly spaced phototransistor sensors to detect the reflectiveness of different surfaces. These sensors provide an analogue voltage to the BBC micro:bit, allowing for precise environmental readings. Five connections are required for full operation, which match those on the BBC micro:bit and can be easily attached using either bolts or croc-clip leads.
To make coding as straightforward as possible, custom MakeCode blocks have been created specifically for this board. For those who prefer text-based programming, it can also be coded using MicroPython. Please note that the BBC micro:bit and any accessories shown for illustration purposes are not included.
