The Mentor 1271.101 is a high-quality, multiple-display, single-line light guide system designed to efficiently transmit light from SMD LEDs to a panel surface. It serves as a reliable substitute for front-engraved legends (FEL) in applications with a 5.08mm pitch. This system simplifies illumination by neatly gathering light from multiple sources into a single, organised line, enhancing the visibility and aesthetic of displays and indicators.
The light guide features a robust UL-94 rated plastic material, ensuring durability and flame retardancy for safe use in various electronic environments. It is designed for a wide ambient temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for demanding industrial, automotive, and outdoor applications. The unit provides ESD protection rated at less than 12kV, offering added resilience against electrostatic discharge events.
Featuring a total of 10 individual light pipes, each with a 3mm circular diameter, the guide is supplied in a transparent colour for maximum light transmission efficiency. The overall assembly has a precise length of 48.7mm. Its 90-degree mounting orientation allows it to effectively redirect light from board-mounted LEDs to a perpendicular panel surface. The light pipes are securely held in place on the printed circuit board via integrated press-fit lugs, ensuring a stable and solder-free mounting solution that simplifies assembly.
