This Microchip 12-Bit Digital to Analogue Converter is a single-channel, buffered voltage output device featuring integrated EEPROM memory. Housed in a compact 6-pin SOT-23 package, it is designed for low power consumption while delivering high-accuracy performance.

An on-board precision output amplifier enables the device to achieve a rail-to-rail analogue output. Users can programme the DAC input and configuration data to the non-volatile EEPROM memory via an I2C interface command. This non-volatile memory feature ensures that the DAC input code is retained during power-off, allowing the DAC output to be available immediately upon power-up.

The converter includes a power-on reset (POR) circuit to guarantee reliable power-up behaviour, alongside an on-board charge pump that provides the necessary voltage for EEPROM programming. It features a two-wire I2C compatible serial interface, supporting standard (100kHz), fast (400kHz), and high-speed (3.4MHz) communication modes.
