The MICROCHIP 24LC512 EEPROM is a 512Kbit (64K x 8) I²C™ Serial Electrically Erasable PROM designed for advanced, low-power applications. It operates across a broad voltage range from 2.5V to 5.5V, making it suitable for personal communications, data acquisition, industrial, power management, communications networking, and automotive systems.
This device features a 128-byte page write buffer and a maximum page write time of just 5ms, ensuring efficient data handling. It supports both random and sequential reads up to the full 512K memory boundary, and the functional address lines allow up to eight devices to be cascaded on the same bus for a total address space of up to 4Mb.
The EEPROM is equipped with a hardware write-protect pin, Schmitt trigger inputs for noise suppression, and output slope control to eliminate ground bounce. It is I²C™ compatible with a 2-wire serial interface, and offers self-timed erase/write cycles for reliable operation. With over 1 million erase/write cycles and more than 200-year data retention, this device is built for long-term reliability.
The IC comes in a DIP-8 package (through hole mounting) and operates over a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. It provides robust ESD protection of over 4000V, making it a dependable choice for demanding environments.
