Its synchronous serial port can be configured as either a 3-wire Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) or a 2-wire Inter-Integrated Circuit (I²C) bus, alongside a Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (USART) for flexible communication options.
Designed for efficiency, it incorporates a Watchdog Timer (WDT) with its own on-chip RC oscillator, programmable code protection, a power-saving sleep mode, and low-power consumption. With a 13-bit program counter, it addresses an 8K word x 14-bit program memory space. The microcontroller operates at a maximum frequency of 20MHz within a supply voltage range of 4V to 5.5V, making it suitable for demanding environments.
