Microchip 8-bit Flash MCU with RISC architecture, 768Byte memory, and ICSP support in a 6-pin SOT-23 package.
The Microchip 8-Bit Flash Microcontroller delivers high-performance using a fully static Flash-based CMOS design. Employing a RISC architecture, it features only 33 single-word, single-cycle instructions, making the instruction set straightforward and significantly reducing development time. All instructions execute in a single cycle (1µs), with the exception of program branches which require two cycles.
This device integrates a baseline core with 2 stack levels, an 8-bit wide data path, and highly symmetrical 12-bit wide instructions that provide a typical 2:1 code compression compared to other 8-bit microcontrollers in its class. It is designed for efficiency with a low power sleep current of 100nA and supports 25mA source/sink current I/O. Essential timers include one 8-bit timer (TMR0) and a Watchdog timer (WDT).
Development and debugging are streamlined with In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP) capability, In-Circuit Debugging support, and programmable code protection. The microcontroller operates at a maximum frequency of 4MHz, featuring 768Byte of program memory and 24Byte of RAM. Housed in a compact 6-pin SOT-23 surface mount package, it operates reliably between 2V and 5.5V, and in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C. AEC-Q100 qualified, it measures 43mm x 33mm x 15mm and weighs just 0.013 grams.
