Microchip fixed LDO linear regulator providing a 3.3V output at 1A. Features low dropout voltage, short circuit protection, and surface mount design.
This Microchip Fixed LDO Voltage Regulator provides high current and low output voltages in a compact 3-pin SOT-223 package. Delivering a fixed 3.3V output with a 1A current capability, it is an excellent choice for applications demanding high current with low voltage requirements.
Designed for efficiency and stability, the regulator requires only 1μF of output capacitance when using ceramic capacitors. This inherently lowers output noise while reducing both the size and cost of the overall regulator solution. It features a low dropout voltage of 250mV at 1A and a low supply current of 120μA, alongside a fast response to load transients and a tight typical output voltage tolerance of 0.5%.
For robust operation during system fault conditions, the device includes overtemperature and short circuit current limiting protection. Additionally, it offers a power good output and operates reliably across a wide junction temperature range from -40°C to 125°C. The input operating voltage ranges from 2.3V to 6.0V, making it highly versatile for various power management scenarios.
