MICROCHIP MCP1407-E/P MOSFET Driver, 6A, DIP-8

The MCP1407-E/P from Microchip is a high-speed, non-inverting power MOSFET driver housed in a compact 8-pin DIP package. This single-output driver delivers a robust 6A peak drive current, ensuring rapid and efficient switching of power MOSFETs in demanding applications.

Featuring low shoot-through current, matched rise and fall times, and propagation delays, the MCP1407 minimises power loss and signal distortion. It can charge and discharge a 2500pF gate capacitance in just 20ns, making it exceptionally fast for high-frequency operations. Its low output impedance guarantees that the intended MOSFET state is maintained even under large transients.

The driver is versatile, with an input that can be driven directly by TTL or CMOS logic (3V to 18V). It is highly latch-up resistant and can withstand up to 5V of noise spiking on the ground pin without damage, providing reliable operation in noisy environments. This device is a pin-compatible and improved version of the TC4420/TC4429 drivers.
