The MIDAS DISPLAYS LCD Display Module (16 x 2, White on Blue) is a versatile and reliable chip-on-board (COB) alphanumeric display module designed for clear, easy-to-read information output in a wide range of electronic applications. It features a 16-character by 2-line display format with a crisp white-on-blue appearance, provided by a blue transmissive STN LCD with a bright white LED backlight for excellent visibility.
This module is engineered for straightforward integration, operating on a typical 5V DC supply with a low current consumption of just 1.4mA. It utilises a standard parallel interface via a 16-way single-in-line (SIL) connector with a 2.54mm pitch, located at the top left, making it compatible with many common microcontrollers and development boards. The display is controlled by an SPLC780D controller, which supports both English and Japanese character fonts.
Constructed with durability in mind, it offers a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C, ensuring stable performance in varying environmental conditions. The module has a 6 o'clock viewing direction and uses a 1/16 display duty with a 1/5 driving bias. Its compact dimensions make it suitable for projects where space is at a premium.
