The NXP 16-Channel I²C LED Controller is an advanced solution optimised for LCD RGBA colour backlighting applications. Designed in a TSSOP-28 package, this controller features 16 individual LED outputs, each equipped with a 12-bit resolution (4096 steps) fixed frequency PWM controller. This allows for precise brightness adjustment, with a programmable frequency ranging from 40Hz to 1000Hz and a duty cycle adjustable from 0% to 100%.
As part of the Fast-mode Plus (Fm+) family, this device supports higher frequencies up to 1MHz and facilitates more densely populated bus operations of up to 4000pF. It includes a 25MHz internal oscillator that requires no external components, alongside an internal power-on reset and a noise filter on SDA/SCL inputs for reliable performance.
