The POWER INTEGRATIONS TOP244PN is a TOPSwitch-GX EcoSmart integrated off-line switcher in an 8-pin DIP package. It integrates a high-voltage power MOSFET, PWM control, fault protection and other control circuitry onto a single CMOS chip, inheriting the proven TOPSwitch topology but with added functions that reduce system cost, improve design flexibility, and deliver high performance and energy efficiency.
This switcher features soft start, frequency jittering for lower EMI, a wider duty cycle (DCMAX), hysteretic thermal shutdown, and larger creepage packages. All critical parameters (current limit, frequency, PWM gain) have tighter temperature and absolute tolerances, simplifying design and optimising system cost.
