The RENESAS HIP4081AIBZ is a high-frequency, medium-voltage Full-bridge N-channel FET Driver Integrated Circuit (IC). Designed for precision and reliability, it is capable of driving every possible switch combination, except those that would cause a damaging shoot-through condition. This robust driver can operate at switching frequencies up to an impressive 1MHz, making it exceptionally well-suited for demanding applications such as driving voice coil motors, high-frequency switching power amplifiers, and sophisticated power supplies. It is also an excellent choice for controlling medium-voltage brush motors.
A key performance feature is its short propagation delay of approximately 55 nanoseconds. This minimises control loop latency, allowing for higher crossover frequencies and enabling dead-times to be adjusted to near zero. The result is significantly reduced distortion and rapid, precise control of the driven load, which is critical for high-performance systems.
