The SB Components PiTalk 2G IoT HAT brings reliable 2G GSM connectivity to your Raspberry Pi, enabling you to make phone calls and send SMS text messages directly from your board. Designed for a wide range of IoT applications, this high-performance add-on card provides versatile communication options, allowing you to connect devices even in environments without WiFi or Ethernet access.
At the heart of the PiTalk is the SIM868 Quad band GSM/GPRS module, complete with a micro SIM card slot. It offers quad-band compatibility across 850/900/1800/1900MHz frequencies and features GPRS Class 12 with up to 85.6kb/s uplink and downlink transfer speeds. Control is handled via standard AT commands, ensuring straightforward integration into your projects.
Key Hardware Features
The board is equipped with a dedicated power button and an onboard GSM antenna (UFHL) for robust signal reception. A UART selection jumper allows for flexible operation via either the Raspberry Pi or a USB connection. Additionally, the HAT includes Micro USB and 3.5mm audio connections for power and audio output respectively.
