Airpax 6700 Series Thermal Switch, NC, 70°C

The Airpax 6700 Series is a positive snap action, sub-miniature bimetallic thermostat designed for accurate and reliable thermal sensing and switching. This single pole, single throw (SPST) device delivers a fast, positive response with excellent repeatability, making it a dependable component for critical temperature management.

Engineered for robust performance, this normally closed (NC) thermal switch offers a versatile contact rating. It can handle up to 0.5A at 48VDC and is capable of reliable low-level switching, managing currents as low as 0.001A to 0.020A at 5VDC for up to 100,000 cycles. This makes it suitable for both power switching and sensitive signal applications.

Primary Applications

Primarily developed for thermal management in power supplies, its compact sub-miniature design is also ideally suited for use on crowded printed circuit (PC) boards. Typical functions include activating indicator lights, sounding audible alarms, triggering control circuits to send messages to displays, or initiating system shutdown procedures for protection.

Construction & Features

The device features gold-plated contacts for enhanced reliability and conductivity. Thermal transfer is efficiently managed through the terminals and the mounting bracket.
