StarTech 4 Port USB 3.2 Gen 1 PCIe Expansion Card

The StarTech 4 Port USB 3.2 Gen 1 PCIe Expansion Card adds four USB-A 5Gb/s ports to a server or desktop system through a single PCI Express 2.0 x4 connection.

Overview

This expansion card is designed to extend the USB connectivity of a server or desktop computer. Each of the four ports is supported by its own host controller chipset, so each port operates on a dedicated channel with up to 5Gb/s of bandwidth. The card provides a combined total bandwidth of up to 20Gb/s across the four ports.

Power Supply

The card can receive supplemental power through an optional SATA or LP4 power connection. When the power supplied from the motherboard is insufficient, this provides up to 5V 1.5A (7.5W) on the USB-A ports to support power-hungry connected devices.

Key Features

• Four external USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gb/s) ports
• Dedicated host controller for each port
• Optional SATA or LP4 supplemental power input
• Horizontal port layout that helps reduce the risk of port clearance issues within the computer case
• Drivers install automatically in most environments, including Windows 8 or later and various Linux distributions

Compatibility

The card supports Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11, and Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016.
