The TE Connectivity R Series 10Ω Precision Metal Film Resistor is an axial leaded, through-hole component designed for demanding electronic applications requiring exceptional accuracy and long-term stability. Its resistive element is crafted from a thin film of nickel-chrome alloy evaporated onto a high thermal conductivity ceramic substrate, ensuring reliable performance.
To achieve its precise 10Ω value with a tight ±0.1% tolerance, the element is carefully spiralled after metal end caps are force-fitted. Tinned copper lead wires are securely welded to these caps, providing excellent solderability. For robust protection, the component is coated with one layer of phenolic resin followed by three layers of epoxy resin, safeguarding it against severe environmental conditions.
This precision resistor exhibits very low noise and excellent stability under load, making it particularly suitable for circuits where long-term reliability is critical, such as in measurement equipment, medical devices, and precision instrumentation. It is tested for value and tolerance across an extensive operating temperature range from -65°C to 155°C.
With a power rating of 250mW (0.25W) and a voltage rating of 250V, this metal film resistor offers a low temperature coefficient of ±15ppm/°C. Its axial leaded package facilitates straightforward through-hole mounting on printed circuit boards (PCBs).
