Low voltage 250mW class AB audio power amplifier from Texas Instruments. 8-pin DIP, 4V-12V supply, ideal for battery operation.
The Texas Instruments 250mW Audio Power Amplifier is a low voltage class AB device housed in an 8-pin DIP package. Designed specifically for low voltage applications, this amplifier offers an internally set gain of 20, which keeps the external part count to a minimum. Should higher gain be required, adding an external resistor and capacitor between pins 1 and 8 allows the gain to be increased to any value from 20 to 200.
The inputs are ground referenced, while the output automatically biases to one half cycle of the supply voltage. With a quiescent power drain of just 24mW when operating from a 6V supply, this amplifier is exceptionally well-suited for battery-powered applications.
