The Texas Instruments CD4076BE is a versatile 4-bit CMOS D-type register featuring integrated clock and 3-state outputs, designed for reliable performance in digital logic applications. It includes data disable inputs that provide precise control over data entry into its flip-flops; when both are held low, data present at the D inputs is loaded on the next positive clock transition.
Output control is managed via independent output disable inputs. When both are low, the standard logic states of the four outputs are available. A high logic level at either output disable input independently places the outputs into a high-impedance state, effectively disabling them without interfering with the clock signal. This three-state capability is ideal for bus-oriented systems.
Key features include gated output control lines for enabling or disabling outputs, standardised and symmetrical output characteristics for consistent performance, and rigorous testing standards. The device is 100% tested for quiescent current at 20V and boasts a maximum input current of just 1µA at 18V, ensuring low power consumption and high efficiency.
