Texas Instruments low voltage audio power amplifier. Class AB, 325mW output, 4V-12V supply. Ideal for battery-operated portable devices.
This Low Voltage Audio Power Amplifier from Texas Instruments is designed specifically for low-voltage consumer applications. It offers an internally set gain of 20 to keep the external part count to a minimum. However, by adding an external resistor and capacitor between pins 1 and 8, the voltage gain can be increased to any value ranging from 20 to 200, providing excellent flexibility for various audio circuit requirements.
The inputs are ground referenced, while the output automatically biases to one-half of the supply voltage. When operating from a 6V supply, the quiescent power drain is merely 24mW, making this amplifier highly suitable for battery-powered devices where power efficiency is critical.
Key Features
Delivering an output power of 325mW into an 8-ohm load, this Class AB amplifier operates efficiently across a supply voltage range of 4V to 12V. Featuring a surface-mount SOIC package with 8 pins, it is ideal for compact electronic designs. With an operating temperature range from 0°C to 70°C, it is well-equipped for standard commercial and industrial environments.
