This TT Electronics / Welwyn PCF Series SMD Chip Resistor offers a precise and reliable solution for surface mount applications. Featuring a resistance of 1MΩ with a tight tolerance of ± 0.1%, this 0.1W (100mW) thin-film resistor ensures accurate performance in demanding electronic circuits.
Constructed using thin-film technology, the resistive material is selectively deposited onto a 96% alumina substrate alongside metallic contacts. The unadjusted resistor undergoes a heat treatment to achieve the required temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and stability. Following this, a precisely controlled laser trim process adjusts the resistance value to the required specifications.
Design and Protection
For longevity and robust performance, epoxy protection is applied to the component. The resistor features wrap-around terminations that are plated with nickel and then tin. Supplied with 100% Sn matte-plated wrap-around terminations, it is suitable for soldering. The terminations incorporate an electroplated nickel barrier and tin coating, ensuring excellent leach resistance properties and solderability.
