This radial box capacitor utilises a metallized polypropylene (PP) film dielectric and metallised film electrodes, offering low losses, high efficiency, and a long operational life. It is part of the MKP336 6 Y2 series, featuring tinned wire leads and a robust series construction.
As a Y2 safety capacitor, it ensures safety on pulses up to 5kV in line bypass applications, making it suitable for power management and RF communications. The capacitor is constructed with two electrodes separated by a plastic dielectric material, where the thin metallized electrodes (approximately 10 to 50nm thick) are evaporated onto the dielectric, providing excellent self-healing properties. The device is encapsulated in a UL94V-0 flame-retardant epoxy resin sealed plastic case, offering protection against severe environmental conditions and passive flammability.
Key specifications include a capacitance of 0.022 µF with ±20% tolerance, a rated AC voltage of 310VAC at 50 to 60Hz, and a voltage rating of 300VAC for Y2 applications.
