Broadcom 2-Channel SMD Optocoupler, DIP-8, 50mA, 5kV

The Broadcom 2-Channel SMD Optocoupler is a high-performance DC-input, dual-channel phototransistor isolator designed for reliable signal transmission and noise reduction in critical electronic systems. It provides complete electrical isolation between input and output circuits, protecting sensitive components from voltage spikes and ground loop currents.

This optocoupler boasts a high isolation voltage of 5000V_RMS, making it suitable for applications requiring robust safety barriers. Its high current transfer ratio (CTR) of 130% minimum ensures efficient signal coupling, while a fast typical response time of 4µs supports high-speed data transmission without significant lag.

Key Applications

Ideal for modern digital and industrial electronics, this component is perfect for use in programmable logic controller (PLC) I/O interfaces, computer peripherals, sequence controllers, and system appliances. It is also highly effective in measuring instruments and for transmitting signals between circuits of differing potentials and impedances, ensuring clean and isolated communication channels.

Design and Reliability

Encased in a surface-mount DIP (Dual In-line Package) with 8 pins, it offers a compact footprint for PCB design. The device meets stringent international safety and regulatory standards, including approvals from CSA, UL 1577, and IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-2, guaranteeing its performance and reliability in professional and industrial environments.
