Zip Tile LED Display Panel for micro:bit, 64 LEDs

Bring your micro:bit projects to life with the Kitronik Zip Tile LED Display Panel. This innovative board features a vibrant 8x8 grid of 64 individually addressable Zip™ LEDs, enabling you to create colourful animated patterns, display scrolling text, or design unique pixel art. The high-quality LEDs offer full RGB colour control, allowing for millions of colour combinations and dazzling visual effects perfect for educational coding, interactive art installations, or custom signage.

A key feature of this display panel is its expandable design. Multiple Tiles can be easily linked together via the integrated expansion points to create much larger display boards, limited only by your imagination and power supply. This modular approach is ideal for classroom settings or more ambitious maker projects where a single, large display is required.

Easy Programming & Compatibility

Programming the Zip Tile is straightforward and accessible. The Zip™ LEDs are fully compatible with any standard WS2812B driver code, making them a versatile choice for various development environments. You can programme the display effortlessly using the popular Microsoft MakeCode Editor for a block-based coding experience, or utilise the Adafruit NeoPixel blocks and libraries for more advanced users. This broad compatibility ensures a smooth integration into your existing micro:bit workflow.

Simple Setup & Power

Installation is quick and tool-free. The micro:bit is securely mounted to the back of the Tile using the supplied screws and plastic spacers, creating a robust single unit. Power is supplied cleanly and efficiently via a dedicated JST connector on the rear of the board. This connection not only powers the bright LED array but also provides a regulated power supply that feeds back to power the connected micro:bit itself, simplifying your cabling and power source requirements.
