STMicroelectronics 3.3V 100mA Positive Voltage Regulator TO-92-3

This STMicroelectronics three-terminal positive voltage regulator from the L78L series employs internal current limiting and thermal shutdown, providing robust performance and reliability for your electronic circuits. When an adequate heat-sink is provided, the device can deliver an output current of up to 100mA.

Designed as a fixed voltage regulator, it is suitable for a wide range of applications, including local or on-card regulation. This helps eliminate the noise and distribution problems often associated with single-point regulation. Furthermore, it can be used alongside power pass elements to create high-current voltage regulators. When used as a replacement for a Zener diode and resistor combination, the L78L series offers improvements, including lower quiescent current and reduced noise levels.
