PRO ELEC 2:1 Heat Shrink Tubing, Black - 6mm 5m
Flame-retardant 2:1 polyolefin heat shrink tubing for electrical insulation, wire protection, and harness bundling. Wide temperature range.
The PRO ELEC 2:1 Heat Shrink Tubing provides a high-performance, versatile insulation solution for a wide range of electrical and mechanical applications. Manufactured from a premium flame-retardant polyolefin material, it offers excellent resilience and durability, ensuring reliable protection for wiring, terminals, and components in demanding environments.
This tubing shrinks to half its original diameter when heat is applied, providing a secure, conformal seal that protects connections from moisture, dust, corrosion, and abrasion. Its high strength and flexibility make it ideal for bundling wires into neat, organised, and very flexible light-duty harnesses, improving both safety and aesthetics in electrical installations.
Key Applications & Features
- Electrical Insulation: Provides critical insulation for in-line components, disconnect terminals, and wire splices, ensuring electrical safety and preventing short circuits.
- Environmental Protection: Resistant to common fluids and solvents, offering long-lasting defence against chemical exposure and harsh conditions.
- Wire Identification: Available in a standard colour, aiding in the identification of wires, cables, and components within complex systems.
- Wide Temperature Range: Engineered to perform reliably in extreme conditions, with an operating temperature range from -55°C to +135°C.
Technical Performance
With a 2:1 shrink ratio, the tubing recovers to a tight fit upon heating. It begins to shrink at a minimum temperature of 70°C and achieves full recovery at 120°C, allowing for easy application with a standard heat gun. The flame-retardant polyolefin (PO) material provides added safety by inhibiting flame propagation, making it suitable for commercial, industrial, and military-grade applications where reliability is non-negotiable.
