Timco Metal Timber to Heavy Steel Screws, 5.5x45mm, Zinc, 200pcs
Timco's zinc-plated, wing-tip screws (200pcs) for fastening timber to thick steel (12mm max). Self-drilling & countersunk.
Timco Metal Construction Timber to Heavy Section Screws are designed for fastening wood to heavy section steel (up to 12mm thick). These screws feature a metric thread with winged tips, ensuring efficient wood reaming while preventing burn-out at high RPM. The wings break off upon encountering steel, allowing the self-drilling tip to tap securely into metal. Ideal for heavy-duty construction and woodworking applications.
Key Features:
- Self-drilling design eliminates the need for pre-drilling, saving time and effort.
- Ribbed countersunk head provides a flush and secure fit.
- Zinc finish enhances corrosion resistance for lasting durability.
- Case-hardened carbon steel ensures superior strength and resistance to snap-off.
Efficient Installation:
The wing-tip design maximises drilling efficiency in wood, reducing friction and heat build-up. When the screw reaches steel (≤12mm thick), the wings shear off, enabling the thread to cut smoothly into the metal. Phillips recess ensures compatibility with standard screwdrivers, making installation quick and hassle-free.
Versatile Use:
Perfect for decks, timber frames, fencing, and structural joints where wood meets heavy steel. The effective thread length (15mm) ensures strong clamping force.
