Yale 85 Deadlocking Nightlatch, 40mm Backset, Chrome Finish
Secure your door with Yale’s high-security deadlocking nightlatch—40mm backset, chrome finish, and 2-year guarantee.
The Yale 85 Deadlocking Nightlatch is a widely trusted front door security solution, featuring a robust design with automatic deadlocking for enhanced protection. Externally operated by key and internally by a lever handle, this nightlatch ensures convenient access while maintaining high security standards. The latch automatically deadlocks upon door closure, and the integrated snib function (bolt hold back button) allows the latch to be held back for ease of use.
For added security, the inside handle can be deadlocked by reversing the key in the cylinder—once engaged, the latch can only be released from the outside. This feature provides peace of mind when leaving your property unattended. The lock includes a 1109 cylinder for reliable key operation and comes in a durable chrome-plated brass casing.
Designed for space-restricted installations, this model has a 40mm backset (the distance from the door edge to the cylinder centre), making it ideal for narrow glass-panelled doors where standard backset locks may not fit.
