The Amprobe LAN-1 LAN Cable Tester is a diagnostic tool for network technicians and IT professionals, supporting cable testing over line lengths of more than 300 metres.

Designed for the quick and reliable testing of opens, shorts, and miswired cable installations, the tester supports a wide range of data cables and connectors. Its intuitive LED display provides a clear go/no-go status to verify the wiring and connection integrity of the item under test in seconds.

Key Features

• Verifies cable wiring for continuity, opens, shorts, or incorrect connections.
• Includes a remote termination module for testing installed cables terminated at wall plates or patch panels, without disconnecting them from active equipment.
• Supports loopback and remote tests to validate entire cable runs.
• An audible buzzer sounds an immediate warning for any error condition detected in the cable.
• Two distinct sets of LED lights provide clear source and test indication.

Operation

You can manually step through each wire in the test cable one at a time for detailed inspection, or set the unit to automatically pulse through all pin-outs and display the results sequentially. This suits both troubleshooting specific faults and rapid batch testing of multiple cables.
