4TRONIX Minibit Robot for micro:bit

The 4TRONIX Minibit is a simple, fun, and ready-to-go educational robot powered by the popular micro:bit microcontroller. Designed to be ideal for beginners and school robotics projects, it offers an accessible entry point into coding, electronics, and engineering.

This complete kit comes ready to use, powered by an integrated 3x AA battery holder with a convenient on/off switch. At its heart are two robust micro-metal gear motors with fully covered gearboxes, which help reduce dust ingress and ensure reliable operation. These motors are fully controllable via software, allowing precise adjustment of both speed (from 0 to 100%) and direction (forward or reverse).

For a touch of personality and visual feedback, the Minibit features four smart RGB LEDs along its front. These can be programmed to produce a stunning array of lighting effects that animate as your robot moves around. Its chunky wheels are fitted with rubber tyres for excellent traction, while a metal ball front caster provides smooth and stable manoeuvrability.

A unique and creative feature is the standard-fitted pen holder, designed for drawing activities. It can securely hold pens with a 10mm shaft, allowing the Minibit to become an artistic ‘drawbot’ and trace its path on paper. For further expansion, the robot includes a front-mounted expansion port, enabling the connection of additional sensors to increase its capabilities and complexity as users' skills grow.

The Minibit is supported by a comprehensive Makecode extension, providing a user-friendly, block-based programming environment perfect for learning. This makes controlling the robot's movements, lights, and any added sensors intuitive and engaging, perfectly suiting the classroom or home learning environment.
