This chopper-stabilised precision Hall-effect unipolar switch from Allegro MicroSystems delivers extreme temperature stability and stress resistance. It is specifically engineered for operation over extended temperature ranges, making it highly suitable for demanding environments where reliable performance is critical.
Superior high-temperature performance is achieved through dynamic offset cancellation, which significantly reduces the residual offset voltage typically caused by device overmoulding, temperature dependencies, and thermal stress. The device integrates several essential components onto a single silicon chip, including a voltage regulator, Hall-voltage generator, small-signal amplifier, chopper stabilisation, Schmitt trigger, and a short-circuit protected open-drain output capable of sinking up to 25mA.
An on-board regulator permits operation with supply voltages ranging from 3V to 24V. The ability to operate down to 3V ensures the device can be deployed in low-power applications, or paired with an external series resistance on the supply pin for added protection against high-voltage transient events. Featuring unipolar switch points, reverse-battery protection, and solid-state reliability, this switch is an excellent choice for robust magnetic sensing.
