DFROBOT Fermion ADXL345 breakout for 3-axis acceleration, tap & free-fall detection. Low power, I2C/SPI interface. Ideal for Arduino.
The DFROBOT Fermion ADXL345 Digital Triaxial Acceleration Sensor Breakout is a compact, high-performance module designed for precise motion and tilt sensing. This breakout board interfaces with the renowned Analog Devices ADXL345 accelerometer, providing a streamlined solution for integrating 3-axis acceleration data into your electronic projects.
Featuring a small, thin form factor and ultra-low power consumption, this sensor is ideal for portable and battery-powered applications. It operates on a supply voltage of 2.0 to 3.6VDC, drawing just 40µA in active measurement mode and a mere 0.1µA in standby. This efficiency makes it perfect for devices where power management is critical.
The ADXL345 offers high-resolution 13-bit measurement, capable of detecting acceleration up to ±16 g. Its digital output is formatted as 16-bit two's complement data, accessible via either an SPI (3- or 4-wire) or I2C digital interface, providing great flexibility for connection to microcontrollers like the Arduino UNO.
Beyond basic acceleration measurement, this sensor includes advanced features such as tap/double tap detection and free-fall detection. These built-in functions enable the development of responsive user interfaces, impact sensing, and device protection mechanisms without complex external programming.
Supplied as a complete breakout board, it comes ready for easy integration into your prototyping or final designs, offering a reliable and accessible way to add sophisticated motion sensing capabilities.
