The Elmdene STX2402-MOD is an un-boxed switch mode power supply designed for critical systems, providing a reliable 27.6V DC regulated output capable of supplying up to 2.0 Amps continuously to the load. In addition to its main load capacity, it delivers up to 700mA for charging standby batteries with capacities up to 18Ah, ensuring your emergency systems remain powered during mains failure.

A key feature is its comprehensive electronic short circuit protection, which operates under both mains and standby battery power. To maximise battery longevity, the unit employs continuous active battery monitoring and a sophisticated two-stage charger. This system includes a bulk charge phase followed by a temperature-compensated final float phase, adapting to the battery's condition for optimal charging.

Once batteries are fully charged, the power supply enters an Eco power saving mode. In this state, the batteries are charged for just 4 hours within a 24-hour period while still being continuously monitored. This intelligent approach reduces energy waste from overcharging and significantly extends the working life of the connected batteries. For added protection, deep discharge circuitry disconnects the battery from the load if its voltage falls below 21V, preventing premature battery failure during extended standby operation.

The unit provides clear system status via two sets of volt-free, solid-state relay fault output signals for (i) loss of mains and (ii) battery fault, charger fault, or loss of output. On-board diagnostic LEDs offer immediate visual feedback: a green LED indicates mains presence, a yellow LED flashes to signal output, battery, charger, or mains faults, and an internal orange LED provides further diagnostic information. All indicators perform a check sequence at start-up.
