The ETAL P3000 is a micro-profile, surface-mount (SMD) hybrid isolating transformer designed for demanding communications applications. This advanced component integrates three critical functions: a reinforced safety barrier, telephone line matching, and high-fidelity 2-to-4 wire conversion.
Engineered specifically for high-speed, full-duplex data transmission, the P3000 excels in scenarios requiring extremely low signal distortion. Its performance is optimised for the spectral band of 600Hz to 3kHz, and operation at speeds up to 56kbits/second has been confirmed. A key achievement is the realisation of a very low noise floor at the receive port, even when high power is sourced at the transmit port, ensuring clear signal integrity.
The design offers significant circuit simplification, as the transmit, receive, and line ports are fully floating and galvanically isolated from each other. This isolation is a cornerstone of its safety and performance.
