The FT230XQ is a fully-integrated USB 2.0 Full Speed integrated circuit that provides a compact and efficient bridge to basic UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter) interfaces. This single-chip solution handles the entire USB protocol on-chip, eliminating the need for any USB-specific firmware programming and enabling rapid integration of USB functionality into system designs.
The device offers versatile data transfer rates ranging from 300 baud up to a high-speed 3 Mbaud, with a low typical operating current of just 8mA. It incorporates a fully-integrated 2048-byte EEPROM for storing device descriptors and configurable CBUS I/O settings, providing flexibility for custom applications. The inclusion of 512-byte transmit and receive buffers, utilising advanced buffer smoothing technology, ensures high data throughput and reliable communication.
