This FTDI USB to FIFO Interface IC is a USB to parallel FIFO interface device presented in a 28-pin SSOP package. The device simplifies USB to FIFO designs and reduces external component count by fully integrating an external EEPROM, USB termination resistors, and an integrated clock circuit which requires no external crystal.
Designed to operate efficiently with USB host controllers, it uses as little of the total USB bandwidth as possible. It features true 5V, 3.3V, 2.8V, and 1.8V CMOS drive output alongside TTL input. High data throughput is achieved through a 128-byte receive buffer and a 256-byte transmit buffer utilising buffer smoothing technology. The device is supplied pre-programmed with a unique USB serial number and supports bus-powered, self-powered, and high-power bus-powered USB configurations.
