The IXYS MCC162-16IO1 is a high-performance 7-pin phase-leg thyristor module designed for use at line frequencies. Its advanced thyristor design ensures electrical isolation between the base plate and the voltage-carrying parts, thanks to a conventional multilayer module construction using the DCB (Direct Copper Bonding) technique. This construction provides excellent thermal performance and long-term reliability.
The module features direct copper bonded Al2O3-ceramic substrate, which offers outstanding long-term stability of blocking currents and blocking voltages. The planar passivated chip technology further enhances the module's durability and consistent electrical performance. The base contacts come standardised with two twin plugs for gate and auxiliary cathode control terminals, easing installation and maintenance.
