Drive up to 16 servos with the Kitronik compact driver board for micro:bit. Features PCA9685 IC, 3V-12V operating voltage & integrated edge connector.
The Kitronik Compact 16 Servo Driver Board for micro:bit is an essential solution for a wide range of robotics projects. Based on the PCA9685 driver IC, this board is capable of driving up to 16 servos simultaneously, making it ideal for complex and demanding builds. It features an integrated Edge Connector specifically designed for the BBC micro:bit, ensuring a secure and seamless connection.
This driver board provides four groups of four servo connections using a standard 0.1" pitch. It operates within a voltage range of 3V to 12V and supports a maximum continuous current of 12A across all servos. Power can be supplied via a terminal block or a servo-style connector, conveniently controlled by an integrated on/off switch.
A significant advantage of this board is its ability to provide regulated 3V power directly to the micro:bit, eliminating the need for a separate power supply for the microcontroller. Additionally, the board breaks out 3V and GND pins, allowing other devices to be powered from the same source. It also features a Link compatible expansion header and supports custom MakeCode blocks for straightforward programming.
