The Kitronik Graphics128 OLED display is a monochrome 128x64 display board designed specifically for the BBC micro:bit. It adds a clear, low-power OLED screen to your micro:bit projects without the need for any tools, fixings, or soldering. The on-board edge connector lets the micro:bit slot directly into the board, making assembly quick and simple.
The board also features a micro:bit style I/O connector, allowing it to be plugged into any other micro:bit accessory with a slot for inserting a micro:bit. All of the BBC micro:bit pins are tracked through to the edge pads, so you retain full access to the micro:bit’s features while gaining the benefit of the display.
Programming is flexible and beginner-friendly. You can code the display using MakeCode blocks, and Kitronik provides custom MakeCode blocks for simplified use. For more advanced users, Kitronik has created a GitHub repository with custom Python functions, enabling a wider range of coding possibilities.
The board can be powered either via the edge connector or directly from the micro:bit, requiring a 3V supply. It includes a power indicator LED to show when the board is active. Additionally, the default I2C address of the board can be changed, offering flexibility for projects that use multiple I2C devices.
With dimensions of 43mm x 33mm x 15mm, the display board is compact and lightweight, weighing just 21 grams. It is an ideal way to add visual output to your BBC micro:bit experiments, teaching, or hobby projects.
