The Kitronik ZIP Halo HD Board for the BBC micro:bit transforms your micro:bit into a vibrant, interactive display and audio device. This clever expansion board incorporates a stunning ring of 60 individually addressable full-colour ZIP LEDs, enabling you to create complex animations, light shows, and visual indicators for your projects.
Beyond its impressive display capabilities, the board is wired for sound with a built-in MEMS microphone for sound detection and a piezo buzzer to play tones and melodies. It also features an on-board Real-Time Clock (RTC), controlled via I2C lines from the micro:bit, allowing your creations to keep accurate time even when the main processor is asleep. For secure mounting in your projects, the board includes two M3 mounting holes.
Designed for ease of use, it offers true plug-and-play functionality via the on-board edge connector, requiring no additional tools for connection. Power is conveniently managed through a 3xAA battery holder mounted on the rear of the board, complete with an on/off switch to help maximise battery life when the project is not in use.
