Microchip 24AA02UIDT 2Kbit I²C EEPROM with Unique ID, SOT-23-5

The Microchip 24AA02UIDT-I/OT is a 2-kilobit I²C serial EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) featuring a factory-preprogrammed, 32-bit unique identifier. This compact, low-power memory chip is organised as two blocks of 128 x 8-bit memory and communicates via a standard 2-wire serial interface.

Its advanced low-voltage design allows for reliable operation from a single supply voltage as low as 1.7V, making it ideal for battery-powered and portable devices. The device excels in power efficiency, with maximum standby and active currents of only 1µA and 1mA respectively. It supports clock frequencies of 100kHz and 400kHz, providing flexibility for various system speeds.

Key features include a page write buffer capable of handling up to eight bytes of data in a single operation, with a typical page write time of just 3ms. The self-timed write cycle simplifies software design, while built-in Schmitt trigger inputs provide excellent noise suppression. Output slope control helps to eliminate ground bounce, ensuring signal integrity in electrically noisy environments.

Built for endurance and reliability, this EEPROM is rated for more than one million erase/write cycles and boasts a data retention period exceeding 200 years. It also includes robust ESD protection rated greater than 4000V. The device is supplied in a space-saving SOT-23 package with five pins, designed for surface-mount assembly.
