The Microchip 64Kbit I2C Serial EEPROM provides reliable non-volatile memory storage in a compact surface-mount package. Organised as a single block of 8K x 8-bit memory, this device operates on a two-wire serial interface (I²C compatible) with a maximum clock frequency of 400kHz.
Designed for versatile integration, it features a wide supply voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V. The EEPROM supports a page write capability for up to 32 bytes of data, featuring a self-timed erase/write cycle with a maximum write cycle time of 5ms. For enhanced data security, it includes a hardware write-protect function.
System scalability is enabled by three functional address pins, allowing up to eight devices to operate on the same bus for a total address space of 512-Kbit. Signal integrity is maintained through Schmitt trigger inputs for noise suppression and output slope control to eliminate ground bounce.
The device boasts an industrial operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, with a typical operating current of 0.1mA and a maximum standby current of 1µA. It offers robust protection with greater than 4000V ESD protection and a data retention period exceeding 200 years.
