MICROCHIP 8-Bit Flash Microcontroller DIP18

The Microchip 8-Bit Flash Microcontroller is a fully-static, Flash-based CMOS device designed for demanding applications ranging from high-speed automotive and appliance motor control to low-power remote transmitters and receivers. Employing a RISC architecture, it features only 33 single-word and single-cycle instructions, ensuring efficient processing. All instructions execute in a single cycle, with the exception of programme branches which require two cycles. The highly symmetrical 12-bit wide instructions result in a 2:1 code compression, while the easy-to-use instruction set significantly reduces development time.

This microcontroller includes a Power-on Reset (POR) and Device Reset Timer (DRT), eliminating the need for external reset circuitry. It is equipped with a baseline core, 2 stack levels, one 8-bit timer (TMR0), and a Watchdog Timer (WDT). With In-Circuit Serial Programming™ (ICSP™) capability and In-Circuit Debugging support, development and programming are straightforward. It also features programmable code protection for enhanced security.

Operating at a maximum frequency of 20MHz, the device offers 768Byte of program memory and 25Byte of RAM memory across 12 I/Os. It is housed in an 18-pin DIP through-hole package, operating reliably within a supply voltage range of 2V to 5.5V and temperatures from -40°C to 85°C. It boasts a low power sleep current of just 100nA and is qualified to AEC-Q100 standards for automotive applications. The product dimensions are 43mm in height, 33mm in width, and 15mm in depth, with a weight of 2 grams.
