The Microchip Fixed LDO Voltage Regulator is an advanced, general-purpose low dropout device supplied in a 5-pin SOT-23 surface mount package. Designed for high performance, it is particularly suitable for battery-powered applications where power efficiency is crucial.
This regulator features an auto-discharge function on the output, which activates when the enable pin is low. Additionally, an internal pull-down resistor on the enable pin disables the output if the pin is left floating, making it ideal for use cases where the control signal is floating during processor boot-up. The device can also enter a zero off-mode current state, drawing virtually no current when disabled, thus conserving battery life.
With a fixed output voltage of 3.3V and an input voltage range from 2.5V to 5.5V, this LDO delivers up to 300mA of output current. It ensures high output accuracy of ±2% and maintains a low quiescent current of just 38μA. The device remains stable with a 1µF ceramic output capacitor and features a low dropout voltage of 160mV at 300mA. Built-in thermal shutdown and current limiting protection safeguard the component under demanding conditions. The operating junction temperature ranges from -40°C to 125°C.
